Curious as to what everyone is paying for water and sewer. I live is a rural area of Kentucky, the population of my county is 13,133 people. The town I'm
located in has 1,202 people and the County seat is 3,145people. We had an increase this year with water and sewer. They are as follows:

Water Rates. Gallons used per month
First 2.000 gallon (city limits) $27.07 min
First 2,000 gallon (outside city limits). $33.61 min

Per additional 1,000 gallon (inside City). $10.26 per 1,000 gallon
Per additional !,000 (outside City). $14.27 per 1,000 gallon

Sewer Rates gallons used per month
First 2,000 gallon (inside city limits). $34.51. Min
First 2,000 gallon (out inside city). $38.50 Min

Per additional 1,000 gallon (inside city limits). $17.96 per I,000 gallon)
Per additional 1,000 gallon (out side city limits) $20.52 (per 1,000 gallon)

These prices do not include Sanitation(dumpster) $155.00, Utility Tax $18.92, KY ST User tax$1.48, and 2 - Kentucky State Sales Tax $37.48 & $72.55

So... at the end of the month I have $630.67 in water, $1,209.09 is SEWER and $285.77 in taxes amounts to $2,125.55 (water usage 67,400Gallon)
This is for June, Mays bill was $2,194.19

I added a Wash World Razor in march, its using all Lustra products, andI just switched from K-Chemical 749 soap / 55gal to Lustra soaps for my self serv bays. Margins were so much with K-Chemical but I can see a HUGE difference using the Lustra.

Im Im charging $8-$10-$12-and $15 in the IBA and $1.00 for 2.30 min - $.25-.37sec.

Three different water companies in the county, all three raised rates. There is two other car washes in the county also, and I think I can get them on board with changing prices as well. They are in line with my prices basically.

For the professional number crunchers out there, ... would $2.00 for 2 1/2 min be too much of a raise? WWYD? (what would y'all do?)

what is the cost in percentage terms to your gross for water and sewer…?

Our is approximately 5%…

I would think that's too much of an increase and you will get lots of pushback. What is your competition charging and how are they running their washes compared to yours? Our city has a completely different pricing structure but at 50,000 gallons we would be about $11.50/1,000 gallons for water and sewer combined. It's really low compared nearby municipalities.

One of my locations has a water rate of $26 per thousand gallons water and sewer combined. I am at a $2 start for 3 minutes 12 seconds. It works for me. Also, I would get rid of the $8 option on your auto to boost your wash average.
