Heating season will be upon us all too soon. A word of caution against the deluge of utility solicitations that will follow. We were raked over by a nat. gas supplier that promised guaranteed annual savings. Still trying to get a refund - nothing but run around. BTW, company's initials are USG&E. AVOID!!!
In NY, these birds are unregulated. PSC only handles residential complaints, Attorney General's office makes note, but advises to hire an attorney, at which point the pit gets deeper.
Bottom line: keep it close to home with folks you are familiar with or can at least hound in person.
This is not a typical "money saving changes" topic, but if it prevents money loss, it will ultimately be a savings.
