Warsaw 534 wonder plus

For those of you using warsaws wonder for your IBA single step presoak what is the ratio you are using it? Also do you use a booster? Does it do a decent job cleaning?

When using the 534 just by itself I mix it 90:1 Recently I have started using the Hot Shot Booster and I just follow the recommended ratios that are posted on the side of the Hot Shot container. I am happy with the results that I get.

I have always used 534 by itself. How does adding a booster work? Is it something that you need an additional low pressure inlet? When and where do you add it? Does it help?

Hot shot is a caustic product mixture of sodium and potassium hydroxide. I use a dual tip eductor and usually use a purple hydro tip. But that concentration is considered dangerously strong, I would feel more comfortable telling people to use a pink tip.

Where you may have been using 534 with say a orange tip, you could probably dial back to a yellow tip, then get the bulk of your alkalinity from the hot shot. Overall the additional cost of the booster is largely offset by the savings in the presoak.

I will warn you that hotshot is bad ju-ju. However, I feel high levels of alkalinity are going to get you the best car possible in a touch free, and there is minimal risk of use for a knowledgeable, active operator.

Adding Hot Shot Booster to 534 helps you boost the alkalinity of the of the presoak and yes I feel it cleans better. To use it you just use a dual port injector or a splitter for a Hydrominder. You can even decrease the amount of 534 you use and achieve the same results. No I am not a distributor just a happy customer.

I use them year round. I would say use them only when you feel you need to. I would prefer not to use it , but in the past my customers have noticed the difference in cleaning performance. The biggest problem with it is it makes the presoak noxious and irritating to the respiratory tract.

CFCW,
I use Warsaw 576 Finisher in Mark seven automatics with Bluewhite duplex pumps to inject the soap. It is my understanding that 576 is just like 534 but with added alkalinity. I run the 576 at about 85-90 drops using Warsaws titration kit.

Question 1: do you titration the 534/hotshot and if so how may drops do you run at?

Question 2: my Bluewhite pumps have two separate draw tubes and pumps but the two sides are combined on the outlet sides of the pumps, the combined chemicals then run through a single line to the inbay where they are injected into the water. Can the hotshot/576 combo run through the same line at the same time and be ok? They might sit in the line together for extended periods between cars.

I use Zep/ecolab/blue coral 366 combined with 380 at another sight with a different chemical injection system and it seems to clean better than the 576 by itself.

All input from those with experience would be appreciated.

I don't titrate with warsaws's kit. You can use blue coral's kit from the other wash - titrate to same levels and the results will be very similar. IIRC 380 is mostly Sodium Hydroxide. I shoot for 20 drops in a 5ml sample.

I believe the two have to be blended with water to stay in solution. Probably best to poor a few ml of each together and see what happens.
