Is there a source for the 14v indicator lamps for Fragramatics SAV model vacuums. They want $8 plus shipping for those rascals. I put in a 24v bulb, but it's too dim to see. Would a 12v dc bulb work? I can get those at Radio Shack for $1.69ea. I need about 6 bulbs. It sure would be nice if these little picky parts could be bought locally. Yea right, I'm dreaming.

Thanks,
David

If it is an actual bulb, bulbs.com com has several 14 volt replacement styles.

Allied Electronics ( http://www.alliedelec.com/ )also has many 14 V lamps. That is where I go when a solid state relay goes bad on a Fragramatics vac. Fragramatics relay rated at 30 amps. I get the 50 amp model from Allied Electronics for about 1/3 the price.

The 12V bulbs should work. It may not last as long as the originals did.

I am likewise looking for the same thing. With today's technology, there should be an LED replacement that would run much longer, and take less power.

These lights don't last long, because they run 24/7 depending on the switch position.

Thanks,

I bought 2 12v at Radio Shack. They work, but don't know for how long. They were two for $2.49. I hope they last.

Ask one of these electrical wizards. Basically, you want to drop 2-3 volts on the resistor and 11 on the bulb.

Keep in mind that dropping the voltage will reduce the light output of the bulb.
