using powder soap dispensed electronically

I dispense powder soap from powder to automobile in the following manner. Powder {maybe 30 pounds} added to a stainless hopper. Water is connected to the bottom of the hopper, holes at the top of the hopper. The water is allowed to enter the hopper when an electronic unit, which is connected to a probe mounted in the final dilution tank and senses conductivity, closes and activates a solenoid which allows the water to enter the hopper. This allows rich liquid soap to drift out the top holes in the hopper to the final dilution tank. I have used this system for over 50 years. It has been very reliable and works extremely well. I first saw the system on National Pride's two pump system, then Bernardi Bros. two pump system. The electric control module was made by Eco Lab. Later LRD made a similar unit. I had a stock of these electronic conductivity sensors, sensing they would become scarce, and I have about two left. Anyone have an idea who makes such a unit.

I have not seen that type of powder mixer before. Many years ago, I had a wash that had the powder in a stainless steel strainer basket and a spray of water would spray the top of the powder mixture and the concentrate would collect in a tank below. It sounds like the reverse of your system. Good luck.

Thank you. I am familiar with the unit you describe. We use that unit today. Ours is a Dillling-Harris low pressure presoak module that we converted to liquid presoak and eliminated the bladder tank. Our other system is a little different. We use powder for the main self-serve wash water, and the electronic conductivity unit and probe holds the soap concentration to a level that we set by first titrating the soap that goes on the car. Its a very convenient way to use powder, no mixing or measuring, accurate, and powder is an excellent cleaner and economical. Thanks again for your post.
