if i buy a used unitec pos 4000 console that was intended for a wash select II auto cashier, would it stilll be compatible with a hamilton autotec? If not, what would be needed to convert it over?

Yes, you will need to upgrade your software for the POS4000. If it currently has Wash Select II software, it will need Hamilton software.
