Treadle Switch Recommendation

I need a recommendation for overhauling my Touchless Automatic's "home base" treadle switch.

I've had great luck using a Recora Auto Alert for the "entry" treadle (1st position). My second treadle (home base) has been a mercury switch inside a "flapper" that flips the mercury switch when the front tire depresses the flapper. This flapper setup is recessed into a shallow pit which also aids car positioning. The customer feels the front tire "fall" slightly just as the correct position is attained.

This setup is well worn and needs modernizing.

I was wondering what other operators use....

Do customers need the "feel" when finding the correct position?

If so, Could a couple of inverted 1 1/2" angle irons be welded to make a "frame" around another Recora Auto Alert?

Suggestions?

You can use the angle pieces, but I don't think I would use 1 1/2 " , maybe 1" . If you use too big of angle, the cars will have a hard time getting out due to the wet steel and the tires spinning.
