Timer replacement issue

I have a self serve car wash with ginsan timers and panels. Recently a timer stopped working (no 00:00 shown, bay non functional). I recently received a new timer with the exact same model number. I wired the new timer in and had the exact same issue (no display, bay not functional)! I thought maybe we had an electrical issue but there are 24 volts showing all the way up to the timer connection of the timer hot wire inside the bay service door. Did I get a bad timer from the supplier? Or does anyone have any other ideas?

The very best thing you could do is replace the timer with a Dixmor LED-7 timer our in the bay. I suppose you have a push button door?

Yes, they are push button. What is the advantage of dixmor over ginsan for the replacement? Are they compatible or would I need to modify the wiring setup as well?
 
I think I saw you post this in another thread, and someone mentioned with your setup there are two timers. One in the equipment room that actually does the work and the one in the bay is just a slave showing the time. Is this correct? If so, have you tried investigating the one in the equipment room?

(full disclosure, I am not familiar with a two timer setup, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was one)
 
The Dixmor timer is cheaper than the dummy display in the bay, does a lot more than just count down, and is more reliable, not to mention it replaces two separate units.
 
What is involved in switching to the Dixmor display/timer?
I have some tired Ginsan displays and thinking of Dixmor.
I also have a Vac-it-up system.

The hardest part is drilling holes in the stainless to mount the timer. The wiring is pretty straightforward. I ordered some red plexiglass from TAP Plastics to cover the opening since the Dixmor is narrower.
 
Update for posterity-in case anyone has the same issue. It was the interior timer-totally dead. I replaced it and the bay works as it is supposed to.
