Thinking of a Shurvend

I'm Thinking of purchasing a Shurvend to increase vending revenue. I currently have 15 drop shelf machines, 7 of which are in front of my building, 4 in back of building, and 4 under my drying shed. Kind of all spread out. If i get a stand alone glass front. Should i put it in the front of my building and sell my drop shelves? or put the the drop shelves in the back of the building near the drying shed and have 2 centrally located areas for vending? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would put it in the front & sell the drops. I have 2 shurvends & what I see is most people buy more than one thing @ a time when they can see the selections. Also, I would think you would have better visibility & security. One less thing to take care of if you sell the drops. NOTE: the shurs are not 100% perfect. I have a product stuck about once a week ex. aa falling from top row. I do like them. Doug

Sell your drop vends and buy the Shure. I've had mine for 6 years and have enjoyed the revenue increase and mostly trouble free vending. The support is very good.

You might want to check www.vendweb.com. I have purchased three refurbished fawn/wittern group vendors from them. They are good as new, and they have the i-vend system. This system ensures delivery of product by a set of eyes in the bottom. If first spin does not drop product, then it spins a second time. If product does not fall a second time, then credit is returned to the screen for another selection. Best of all, these units are only about $2600 shipped---much less than the $4k of new units.

Shurvend

I bought a Shurvend and was disappointed that I had no wall space or room to install it at the front of my wash. This was near the changer that was visited often. Reluctanctly, I installed it in the back of my wash but also installed an additional changer next to it.

Surprisingly for me, the back of my wash, near the vacuums, turned out to be a better area for the vendor. Many people who dry, vac, or detail their cars after washing seem to be the ones who make vending purchases. So the ones most likely to purchase are the ones constantly seeing the vendor as they clean their vehicles.

You might already know, based on current purchases of vending items, where the highest vending area of the property is. This would be a good indicator of the best place for the glass front vendor. Absent that, you might sit at the wash for a few busy afternoons and observe customer patterns and habits. In my case, what I thought would be best turned out to be wrong, and placement near the vacs turned out to be the best. Had I watched customers more carefully at first I would have seen that.

Sequoia, My vends in the frt next to my changers do 3-4 times as much as the ones in back and drying shed. I was thinking about putting the shurvend in the frt and either selling the drops or putting them all in one location around the vacuum area. But as dpessler mentioned earlier, when people can see all the different selections in the glass front people seem to buy several items. Maybe the ideal scenario would be to put one shur in the frt and one and one in the back of my building. Something I did not mention is that im planning on putting bill acceptors and cc in each bay. Therefore, the traffic around my changers in the frt will be less. But when people drive into the wash from the main entrance they will only see a glassfrt if i put it in the frt. Also, will the lexan fade due to the sun?

A brand new Fawn is a piece of *****. Ask Greg pack about the one he bought and I imagine a few more guys here.
