It sounds like the belts may be slipping on the validator. The only area that would need oil/grease would be where the white plastic rollers connect to the copper hold down tabs. I usually remove all of the rollers, wipe clean the old grease, and very lightly re-grease the tabs that stick out of the plastic rollers. The noise could also be comming from the actual belt drive motor.
