soft touch menu

Looking to see how soft touch machines are setup. What wash selections have for services, Type of machine, and prices of washes. Also if you have touchfree and soft touch how are your prices setup between the two. Thanks Bill

I set mine up with every possible option I can think of, so that I can charge more. My prices are $5, $8 and $10. I use the Ryko SoftGloss. They've been doing rollover friction longer than anybody. It's a very reliable system, with great safety features for damage prevention. I get about the same amount of claims that I do from my touch-free washes. Not many and most are bogus for both systems. I usually try to price both units the same, depending on options.

Bill,

I agree with captain cw- set up the machine so you have as many options as possible to offer and charge for. I am in upstate NY with about 1/3 of the year with snow, ice, salt etc. Because of this and the volume I do during these months, I keep the underspray with rust inhibitor only on the top wash. So many customers want an underspray at this time of year, they will gladly purchase the top wash even if they are not as interested in all the foam and protectants that also go along with that package.

Being in Reno, you probably have different cleaning issues and may want to cater your menu to your particular climate and the washing habits of your customers. Maybe you'll hold off on the wheels of the tri foam until the top package.

One other opinion I have - I know others may disagree, but this is just my thought. If you have sf rinse and a blower, use them both on every package - even the cheapest. I don't like to see cars leaving an automatic wet and/or spotted. Save all of your upcharging for wheels, polish, ccp, underspray, rust inhibitor etc. There are plenty of options to get your extra revenue on without sacrificing the quality of your basic wash.

Good luck.
