Soap Injectors and foot valves

My presoak 2 on my touchfree was getting water in the line, backfeeding from the injector/tip. In the clear line I could see it happening after ps 2 shut off. This would dilute soap pass 1 (by putting some water on at the start of ps 2) and negate cleaning.

I tore apart the injector and the valve body. Found a little gunk, mostly in the injector ball. Found a sliver of brass in valve body and removed it. Cleaned everything and reassembled. Same problem.

Just for kicks I changed out the foot valve on ps2. That seemed to remedy the problem.

My question is why?

Did you rebuild it with a new oring ,and retainer. I would also wonder where silver of metal came from.

Though not your problem check valves on your overhead manifold(hp) can be leaking and putting pressure on your injecter,i always check by removing the chemical line, and turning on the hp pump, if water squirts out the injector you have a couple bed check valves ,depending on your set up.

BTW; When you polished santas sliegh ,did you put in a good word with the big man for your forum buddies. Merry Christmas, and good luck. ;)

I put a dema Y strainer with #80 mesh in the line before any injector. It collects all the stuff in water before it can clog the injectors. It is also a good idea to replace the foot valve and plastic line from the chemical every year. Plastic lines get hard and brittle and don't seal as well so the suction is not what it could be.

super advice everyone; thanks.
