Snowstorm IBA Teardown

Waxman

Super Moderator
It was time to replace the 4 carriage wheels on my Side Trac 700 today. They are what the trolley assy. rides on as it goes in and out. Figured; it's snowing like crazy, time to get it done.:)

We started tearing the machine apart at 9am and finished around 3:30. After some testing and tweaking, all systems appear a 'go'. We also replaced a bulb in my in-bay sign; 10 screws to replace a flippin light bulb!:p

After a quick coffee break we're replacing a swivel in SS bay #2. Then I'm gonna slip slide on home and rest!:D

Shouldn't this be posted on myspace or a personal blog page?
Shouldn't Bill make the call as to what should or should not be posted here? Plenty of people post personal stuff, some not even car wash related.

Dear diary, today the sun was shining, to was a lovely day to wash cars. I think I'll go eat some granola now. Love Waxman

Edit: Just to clarify, Dave is my buddy. I just like to bust his balls...because I can

Please, for the love of God, kill this post!

I do love granola and washing cars. Are those mutually exclusive?

I'm a fan of carwashguy as well as pretty much everyone on acf.

I was just expressing joy at having completed what was, for me, a major repair after which the IBA actually functioned 'as normal'.

Eric; maybe if you had an auto and didn't just fart around with ss, you'd understand. oooooooooooooo; SNAP!

Ok, thanks.
Glad you got your machine all happied up. I have to do the same thing, if I ever get my lazy ass off this computer!

Dirt, its My faux pas! and it means my mistake.

Wax, you just keep being a ray of sunshine here and MEP is right, its my ball and bat and I'll decide what goes. Soapy is just giving you a little $hit, he also thinks that you are a breath of fresh air, so you do your thing and I'll do mine.

One of the issues with ADD people is that they aren't sensitive to other peoples feelings, and I've said more than once, "If you are not putting money in my pocket, I don't care what you think about me" But, I've mellowed a little in my old age:)

Bill,

More precisely, 'faux pas' means bad etiquette.

Waxman, I don't mind hearing about your day to day stuff. Makes me feel less of a lonely carwash guy (I'm only lonely when it comes to carwash duties).

Thanks Bigleo.

I think I post stuff like that because I am still quite green at the carwash business.

Honestly, I need to learn to relax and take the problems more in stride. I am working on it!:o

Waxman,

I'm from Telco Operations. Telephone services are always considered lifeline, so redundancy and diversity are very important along with mean-time-to-repair. I'm always wondering about the "what ifs?" I've been thought to keep availability at 99.99% (less than 4 hrs downtime per year). So I'm anal about keeping everything up and running in perfect shape. To me, a cone in front of a bay is public display of failure and my personal inability to keep things working. I hate it when a customer finds a problem before me and I will stress and think things through and come up with at least a bandaid solution to keep things running. Sometimes my wife thinks I'm Japanese ;)

I don't think I'll change and getting others to have this level of commitment is almost impossible. So I enjoy and relax when my cones collect dust!

Cheers...BigLeo
