Ryko OHD Problem

DiamondWash

Well-known member
I am helping another operator at his wash with his OHD and he is having a really wierd ultrasonic problem here is goes:

Customer pays for a wash that includes the free standing Rocker Panel Blasters and the RPB's activate by the tire running over the air hose not by photoeyes then when the customer is about 3-4 feet from the system the horn sounds "STOP STOP" then goes back to "Drive Forward Slowly" it does this 2-3 times then once the vehicle is under the Rear Ultrasonics the wash begins and it contours the vehicle perfectly even at the rear of the vehicle.

Now for the wierd part of this:

Same customer pays for a wash with "NO" Rocker Panel Blasters included in the package and drives in the same way and no problems, they pull right under the Rear Ultrasonics like they should and the wash begins and contours the vehicle prefectly.

The Rear Ultrasonics are brand new "Transmitter and Reciever" and at a heafty price, it was doing this before we switched them out and I was told from Ryko it had to be a ultrasonic problem. So why would it do it with the rocker panel blaster enabled but not when they are not enabled?

I have the ability to return them, but even if we were to leave these on the system why would it mess up only when the Rocker Panel Blasters are included with the wash package and work fine without the Rocker Panel Blasters on? Could it be a program issue?

The sound of the RP could effect a bad US. You need to monitor the US inputs to see what is going on.

I did monitor D25 D24 (Front and Rear Ultrasonics) then monitored D10 D19 (Side Ultrasonics) neither bounced around I will monitor the inputs on the PLC next, which inputs should be on for the Ultrasonics when the vehicle enters?

What program do you have?
Have you tried talking to Ray or one of his techs, I am sure they can help you over the phone.

Could a faulty air hose or air hose mechanism cause the machine to do the "STOP STOP" then "Drive Forward Slowly" message too soon? because the US are not jumping around front rear or sides.

The Ultra sonics are what tells the car to stop so I doubt the air switch would have anything to do with your problem.
