I have a Ryko AMTT autocashier with a Mars bill acceptor and occasionally it will take the customers 5 or 10 dollar bill and not give any credit. I have not been able to replicate the issue and thought it was customers occasionally trying to scam me, but I witnessed it the other day when a customer inserted a 10 dollar bill, it took the bill, but did not give any credit. I have tried cleaning the acceptor and changing the belts on it but it is still happening. Any ideas?

We had the same issue for a while with $5 bills. Someone I know determined that the bill were cut just a tiny bit too wide, the bill acceptor could pull them in but would try to reject them and couldn't, then would eventually cycle itself to clear the "jam" and drop the bill in the magazine unstacked. Next time you can replicate the issue, see if the bill has been stacked or not.
