Router problems

After spending hours on the phone with support (USA even) and a lot of messing with it, I thought I would share this helpful hint.

My sister has a Blu-Ray that is wireless and streams her the NetFlix. Worked fine for a year plus, then the other day the wireless wouldn't connect. I went over and messed with it and talked with support. Now one thing that throws you off is that my smartphone and tablet hooked up with the wireless just fine.

Where the BR said that it failed was the DNS verification. Finally brought in an identical extra router and it worked fine. To me it doesn't make any sense, but if you happen to run into this DNS issue, get another router.

DNS lookup is one of the 1st things done aside from negotiating an IP address. The packets are likely failing error checking and constantly re-sending. So the Wifi transceiver is likely weak.
