I have a motorhome I'm trying to detail, and it has large front chrome mirrors that look to have some sort of thin plasticized coating. (not the factory protective packaging.) Very subtle, but definitely a little different from standard chrome.

The RV either has water spotted from nearby sprinklers or has some corrosion from a stint where it was parked near the ocean. I want to clean up the chrome and also remove some related spots off of the nearby fiberglass panels.

Any thoughts on what to use to remove it? I've been cautioned against using abrasives, and a detailer/friend advised not to even try Spotnot due to possibly screwing up the expensive chromed mirrors.

My 'go to' product for minor blemishes is 3M Imperial Hand Glaze.

Next is a more aggresive polish by hand then machine bussing. Really it depends upon what the spots are caused by. If they are water spots, what I said is how I would proceed.
