Looking for a remote outlet that I can use to power cycle my wireless router. I’m wanting the ability to remotely power cycle my WiFi…..so I need a remote outlet that connects via Ethernet (rj45) directly to my switch. Is there such a device?
Why do you even need this? Curious. You can always put an outlet timer on your wifi that power cycles at night for few minutes or so but won't be remotely controlled.
You could use a wifi smart plug. Every time you turn the plug on it would activate a timer relay (powered by a separate voltage - the plug will be your signal) that kills power to your wifi for say 30 seconds or so. Once the timer is done the normally closed contacts will engage and your wifi will have power again and so will your wifi plug.
