the pinlock on my vac vault drawer is stuck. i can use the key to turn the lock mechanisma and the lock will fall downward about 1/4 - 1/2 inch but will not fall out of the recessed part of the vault drawer. i pull as hard as i can on the key downward but it will not fall. i can also turn the key and push the lock back up so as to relock the vault. anyone ever had this problem. vacs and locks approx 8 years old.

I'm assuming the pin is loose and not welded to the vac - those use a steel pin, which is probably rusted. Saturate it with WD-40, work it up and down really good and then try it again the next day.

You probably can't get the WD-40 into the top of it. Consider putting a vise-grip on the key, when you turn it and it comes down the 1/4" then smack the vice grip with a hammer, if it releases at all it should come on out.

Or it'll break the key...

If it's a loose pin, the WD-40 will flow down it and into the lock. You just spray the top of the exposed pin.
