Plc controlled self serve

I have an old wonder wash with plc controlled self serve that i need to raise prices. The guy who wrote the program and recieved awards for writing retired will not return calls. I had him do a price increase years ago and he changed them remotely thru a modem there. Is there anyway to do an increase without his help? I know nothing about plc programming. By the way i have talked to his son who is taking over his car wash repair buisiness that said his dad can still do it but dad will not give me a call and now son won't answer. Not very professional to not answer calls or give an explanation. I alsow offered to buy the program to son.

Exactly. It's not a matter of if, but when, you're going to have to convert it. PLCs do not last forever and I'll bet the one you have is long out of production. In fact, it sounds like "when" is now because the author of the most important component, the software, is essentially non-existent.
