PDQ Access won’t take bills after $10 balance

I recently bumped my IBA packages to above $10 and now I have kiosk issues. Packages are now $10, $12, and $14

Naturally, many people are putting in a $10 followed by a $5 or $1’s, but the access unit acceptor will not take anything above a $10 balance. It doesn’t take the bill and spit it back out. I mean it doesn’t even try.

Conversely, if you put in a $5 and then a $10, it works fine. But three $5’s? No… it will take the 1st two $5’s and no more. My IBA support is blaming the bill acceptor and the bill acceptor people are blaming the terminal program so I’m stuck in the middle. It’s making a lot of people mad so any help is greatly appreciated

I know nothing about a PDQ kiosk, but if I am understanding you correctly, your top wash use to be $10? If that is the case, I would think there is a setting in the kiosk that shuts the bill acceptor down when the amount of the top wash is reached, in your case, before the price increase, would be $10. If that is the case, that setting needs to be adjusted to $14. Have you spoken with PDQ (OPW)?

Well PDQ support had me try changing a setting on the kiosk to where instead of displaying the packages first when you pull up, it displays preferred payment method and then the package menu. It’s in the customer flow tab on the PDQ Access interface for anyone with this issue.

This fixed it. He said it’s a bug the old software version had and suspected mine wasn’t updated. Suppose he’s right. I’ll post again if the update fixes this. My current version is 3.01.04
