PDQ Access Credit Card Reader

A couple of days ago someone jammed a screwdriver and tore up my credit card reader. Today I went to my distributor and picked up a new reader but now I have a problem.

The connector on the new reader is upside down compared to the old one. Naturally I flipped the cable and it fit like a glove but after running a diagnostic, I get a "COMM ERROR". Oddly enough the green light is on.

Has PDQ made any changes to the credit card readers and/or wiring since I purchased the unit in 2005? Unfortunately my distributor will not give refunds on electronics, so I'm pretty much out the hole $200. Here are some pics:

Any suggestions?

Blake,
Your old card reader was a 1st generation card reader PDQ. The second card reader in your pic is PDQ's second generation card reader. You can log into the Access unit and change your card reader to "IDTech Spectrum III". It is most likely set up currently for "IDTech spectrum" under device setup. You may need to reset your access unit after making this change.
