Overflowing brine tank

Went to wash and found the brine tank overflowing, called local co. they had me manually start system to purge(they told me the valve is sticking or needs to be replaced)Came back this morning and the brine tank was overflowing again. Where is the valve that needs to be replaced and how hard would it be to do?

It depends on the softener. Most have a valve in the head that controls the flow of brine into the system and then the timed refill. Some use a float in the tank to control the brine level. Without knowing what type of softener you have there's no way to know which you need to look at. Post some pictures if you can't find a brand/model number. In either case the valve should be fairly easy and inexpensive to replace.
