Operator in the Midwest (specifically Detroit Market) looking for assistance with insurance claim.

Unfortunately our business suffered a loss in Jan 2014 through March 2014 where we were down the majority of Jan and partial Feb. We are filing a business interruption claim and the insurance company is taking the position that Jan through March of 2011 was a comparable year with weather conditions. I was hoping to check with other operators in the area to ask if how their January 2014 and February 2014 car counts compared to January and Feb 2011. Did you notice that it was flat, down or up a certain percentage.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am interested too ... we always were cautious about that kind of fine print technicality on how they may be allowed to calculate what the income would have been.

I would remind them that in 2011 we were in the midst of the worst recession in years.
In 2014 we are supposedly starting to recover.
