Have added a 1000 gallon two chamber concrete oil-water separator to my self serve carwash. Am required to provide maintenance and operation instructions to my state environmental agency. Is there any information available I might use to fulfill this requirement?
You could get an environmental engineering firm to write up your maintenance schedule. We have an environmental collection company (a sewage pumper guy) pump them out once a year. Now you have a paper trail proving maintenance. If it is loaded with oil the first year you pump it you might need more frequent maintenance but that is not likely in my experience. Have the firm call your equipment distributor for frequency advise if they need more than your word to write it up.
