Obsolete Gold Line with dial up

Any problems now or in foreseeable future with a Cryptopay on an old Gold line? Should I install both Tap Plus and swiper? Does the kit have it's own controller? Any and all advice is appreciated!

yes do tap and swipe.

i bought the kit and i believe it included everything you need ( assuming you already have cryptopay coordinator that saves and batches trsnsactions).

mine is on a goldline and it's been great over the past 3 1/2 years. it processes a cc transaction so quickly. customers love the speed; it really helps throughput when you're lined up at the bay.

Token notes should not be lost. I am getting ready to convert 4 goldlines over to Crypto with tap and swipe readers. If you have not ordered your kit yet better get it done and start the paperwork to get your merchant number.

Definitely do tap and swipe. Only problem with using cryptopay is a pre auth charge. Expect to get phone calls and bad reviews depending on your area if someone selects a $6 wash but is pre-auth for $10.

There is no new controller. The LED display in the kit is what talks to your swiper/tap.

Im pretty sure token notes are only not usable if you switch to a new validator from the XE. The cryptopay kit will work but it won't recognize the token notes on the website.

Arnt you running a few dencar paystations that your happy with Zal? Why not just switch that one over?

i switched to a mars validator when i added cryptopay. another awesome upgrade. much better bill acceptance than the xe. yes i lost tokenote capabilities but i was ready to stop the tokenote madness anyway.

My understanding is your dial up will continue to work, however, if you have a problem with your CRC such as corrupt transaction etc you're going to be dead in the water as there is no more service or tech support. I would definitely convert to cryptopay but it doesn't NEED to be done by August 29th. I could also be wrong.

This one is in a town of 1000. Not sure If Dencar is advantageous in a really small market. Wash is very profitable as is - and is on an old LW 4000. Might need a complete reno to do memberships

We no longer have card swipers. We took them all off and replaced them with Tap and pay, forcing the public to use card chip or there phone. So far we are happy with the results. The Cryptopay system has nothing to do with the validator acceptance. If your accepting Tokenotes now you can continue to do so after installing Cryptopay.
