We are receiving our first Mars VN 2700 $1-$20 bill validator with a bill recycler this next week. This validator will take the place of the Mars VN $1-$5 & the Mars AE $1-$20 series validators. The VN 2700 with be the only Mars validator that can be fitted with the bill recycler. In most cases the recyler will be set to recycle $5 bills because it takes $20 bills; this will keep the changer from running out of coins if many $20 bills are tendered. For example if a $2 item is purchased and $20 bill is tendered, the validator/recycler will return 3-- $5 bills and the $3 balance in $ coins or quarters. The recycler will hold up to 30 bills and will be refilled as $5 dollar bills are tendered.

We are installing one of these validator/recyclers in a customer's vendor (Junior FL) this next week and will get a chance to see how this new system operates. It should be very customer friendly by allowing the use of $20 bills without the customer getting a whole pocketful of $ coins/quarters they don't want.

The price on the new VN 2700 is $350 and the price on the recycler is also $350. Stay tuned to get more updates of this new validator as time goes by.

Mars VN 2712R Update

We shipped our first Mars VN 2712R $1-$20 validator with a Recycler installed in one of our vendors. We learned the programming of this validator/recycler with a little help from Mars techs and it works very well. The set-up allows us to program up to 30 bills to be stored in the recycler to return as change, the minimum number of bills (Par) to be retained for giving change, and the dollar value if the bill to be given as change ($1, $5, $10). The recycler fits underneath the bill validator, but we have ample room in our machine to accomodate the installation. If one wants to install only the bill validator, that can be done and the recycler added at a later date.

If an operator doesn't want to install a credit card reader in the vendor for the higher priced packages of VIP cards, token packs or token note packs, this is a way to give bills as change rather than the coin changer returning a whole bunch of coin which most customers do not want.
