My Car wash Insurance

All,

I just received a cancellation notice from my insurance carrier that they will not renew my policy. Apparently, State Auto is pulling out of the Midwest because of all the losses from the last 2 winters as well as the flooding last summer in the Detroit area.

My agent had us with Liberty Mutual but they became to expensive and switched us to State Auto. Now my agent recommends to me to go back to Liberty Mutual.

Any thoughts for insurance agents? I'm not happy with them anymore.

I also got a cancellation notice from State Auto but it was in August of 2014. My agent said it had to do with their agency agreement with State Auto and if he could not find me something else he would find me another State Auto agent. He put me with Motorist Mutual. I liked State Auto because they did not audit revenue to determine liability rate. Motorist Mutual has the same policy regarding audits and the rate was competitive.

I am interested in anyone that uses an insurere that specialize in car wash businesses, like the car wash association folks.. We use American Family. We have a big deductible and we don't want our rates to go up so we never file claims with them.

However, we would like an agent that work for us. I mean helps negotiate with the customer and the repair service. I feel like the agents have some rapport with vendors and maybe a better rapport with customers.

Any thoughts?

We were with Nationwide and then moved to Cincinnati Insurance and have been with them for the last 3 years. When we were shopping for insurance after Nationwide, Cincinnati Insurance had the most reasonable rates for our business/situation.

There are 2 or 3 that attend the car wash show, and there are many more available through a Google Search. We use McNeil & Company car wash program, offered through SECWA by an agent in Orlando (we are in Jacksonville). They understand our business, offer all the coverages that we need (garage keepers etc), great rates.

Sudsurfer, luckily we have not had any major claims since we moved from Nationwide to Cincinnati and the small one's that we have had, we handle ourselves in house.
