metal Halide bulb disposal/recycling

Does anyone know how to recycle MH bulbs? I have a pile of burnt out bulbs from before I switched to LED and 105watt CFL's. I know they were not allowed into the waste stream but no can tell my what I can do with them. Spoke to the health Dept, no help. Looked on the EPA website (www.EPA.gov/cfl), no helpful information for Massachusetts. www.keepmercuryromrising.org, no help.

The website about cleaning up broken CFL's scares me: ww.epa.gov/cflcleanup

Funny how you can get injected with a vaccine with mercury but a cfl oh no! :)

Looks like it's just best practices though?

some communities around here have a "hazardous disposal day" a couple times a year. They'll take in small amounts of semi hazardous stuff batteries, paints, pesticides, etc. for no charge.
