We just received information from Coinco announcing the VR6 Recycler which can be retrofitted to the new Coinco Vantage bill validator. Rather than the round drum on the back of the bill validator chassis which Mars uses to store the 30 bills, the Coinco bill recycler stacks 30 bills vertically between the Vantage chassis and the bill stacker box.
As I understand it, the Recycler will stack $1 bills to start with and then add $5 bills down the road. Another feature is the Recycler will only stack the newer bills so change in bills can be made reliably and consistently. I’m told there is special software that tells the Recycler which bill is new and which are older and cruddy.
The new Combo (Bill Validator/Credit Card Reader) has a steel bezel and rugged design which retrofits on the Vantage chassis so it can be used in harsh environments. Well, the car wash environment will put these claims to a severe test, so we’ll see how it works out.
