How much oil will I need, do I really need Cat Oil? If so, is K-R best place to buy? Are there any tips for changing the oul?

Are you changing high pressure pump oil or all gear boxes oil?. Kleen rite has good price but Home Depot normally sells cat oil in the little 18oz bottles and it's cheaper if you include kleen rites shipping charges. Of course you will need to but probably 6-8 depending I fill them up to the halfway mark on site glass. What kind of pump you have depends General CW1541 or Cat 3535? All that info is on there websites.

I'm changing the oil on my cat 3535 only. it is the pump for my Laserwash 4000. How much oil will I need, & do I need to use cat oil?
What about synthetic oil in the 3535?

A Cat 3535 is practically bulletproof. You could probably put used cooking oil in it and it would live. Don't drive yourself crazy over it. Use Cat oil if it makes you feel better. Otherwise, 30W non-detergent is fine.

go to cat pumps website like I described above for you. They call for 4.2quarts of oil and I personally would look at the rear sight glass on the pump there's a orange dot halfway is where oil should be when level. Drain and fill with 4.2quarts to start. This is one of the easiest things to do at a Carwash. I personally would run factory cat oil in a 5K pump and wouldn't want to risk damage because I was to tight to spend $100 on the correct oil. Hope this helps.

Home Depot Cat oil 21oz bottle each= $9.98
4= quarts = 128ozs
buy 4 21oz bottles should be $70 should get you real close. Cheaper than kleen rite with no shipping or wait time. Just saying.
