Just found out our own Uncle Sam passed away

I don’t know how I missed this but Uncle Sam (Jim Holve) passed away on July 20, 2025.
He was one of my favorite people to do business with. Always a pleasure to see him (always dressed as Uncle Sam) and his wife Helen at the ICA shows in his ShurVend booth.

I met Jim at a ICA convention about 20 years ago, when my husband and I had just purchased our car washes. We were green, tired and overwhelmed! Jim WAS MEMORABLE!! He was tall, lanky and dressed in an outrageous red, white & blue outfit - just like Uncle Sam! Even though we didn't buy a Shure-Vend from him, he was so personable, kind and encouraging to us! A few years ago, he posted here he was having some health problems. I'm grateful I took that moment to thank him for his kindness so many years ago. He replied he was touched he had made a positive & lasting impression. Yes, you did Jim! RIP my friend!
