HP Check Valve above bay?

Should there be a check valve on the HP directly above the bay? We used to have a one foot hose coming out of the boom, followed by a check valve, and then into the hose which connected to the HP weep gun.

I tried just one swivel at the boom below the 1' hose and just one at the gun. Neither one alone works well enough for me, so I use one in each place.

We have swivels on the guns. The hose seems fine without a swivel up top.
Then there is no reason for you to use a short hose off the boom. It's there to keep the lateral strain off the swivel. Just eliminate it and make your bay hoses longer.

I've been eliminating the short hoses as I replace the hoses. For us the boom swivel seems to be enough up top and we just use the bottom swivel on the gun. Hose doesn't twist at all.
