Help with 240 v single phase wiring

Wanted to check my work as I don't have a background in electrical. Trying to put a bay back together after a prior owner cannibalize the bays parts for other needs. 240v single phase feed is 2 black hots and white neutral. According to the sticker on motor it says to that 1 side of the hot goes to the top of the thermal switch? Is this right? Yellow wire is #4 Blue is #1 red # 8

For standard rotation:

One hot leg goes to wires 1+8

Second hot leg goes to wire 4

Wires J + 5 in motor need to be wired together.

You shouldn't need a neutral.
