Just had same issue. should be an easy fix. take the two leads of the speaker mounted on the gold line door. Touch a GOOD 9 volt battery to the speaker terminals. If the speaker is good....you will here some crackling from the speaker. likely the speaker is bad. you might find a cheap temprorary speaker at a radio shack type store...i had no luck at my shack. i got the speaker from "divers supply" about 15.00 each, i guess hamilton has them too...but i just searched the model #....get a good one the cheap one i got first for 3.00 sounded bad. good luck
should read take the leads OFF the speaker and test with nine volt battery. also ... if the speaker is not the issue likley the voice controler... a hamilton service item.
I found a coin one time stuck to the magnet on my speaker. Every time it would bebin to "speak" it would short out. I drove 200 miles to get a control board and then realized all I needed to do was pull off the quarter. I felt pretty stupid (that's not unusual here!) but I was glad.
