Hamilton DRS Change Machine Help

Cool Wash

Hi there,

I have a Hamilton DRS change machine. I had hopper jam in one of the hoppers. After fixing the jam, the machine is giving out 2 tokens for $1. We have $ token. It random… it gives 1 or 2 tokens randomly. Sometimes 1 and other times 2 tokens are coming out. $5, $10; $20 are working accurately.

Only issue with $1. Can you help, please?

Thank you!

Did you try reprogramming the side that has the issue?

The side that did not jam, it works properly?

We have a DRS. Never seen the issue. Hamilton tech support is very helpful.

How old is this Hopper? How did you clear the coin jam? If it's dispensing more coins than it should you've got a problem with the Payout switch or with the brake on the back of the motor. Take the cover off the front of the Hopper, remove the baffle and check the switch at the top of the bowl assembly. It should be clean, no debris under the switch arm and the arm should move freely. Under the motor there's a arm and when the arm is pushed up it will raise the white arm off the back of the motor, when correct number of coins have been dispensed the white are will drop and stop the motor from turning. Check the brake arm, it should loose and move freely. You might want to buy a spare switch to have on hand, they are about $53.00
