GinSan Sensortron coin acceptor issue

We had one of these start to give four coin pulses for every quarter dropped. After talking to tech support we found out that this can occur when they start to go out. We swapped it out with a spare and all is good now. It is a good thing we test them everyday. We won't know how much money we lost until we reconcile what is in the vault with the timer. They have actually been very reliable but it would be nice if they would just quit working rather than put your bay on sale for buy one, get three free.

That's been my biggest problem with those too. Unfortunately every make of acceptor has some issue like that. All my Slugbuster II's are zip-tied shut.

We have not had any significant issues like that with our MicroCoin QLs .... hopefully they will continue their quality. Since our customers get $1 coins from our 2 four hopper Std Changemakers ... we get plenty of $1 coins besides just qtrs & a very much increasing number of $5 bills.

Just had one last month start giving 4 pulses per quarter. Luckily I was there and heard it rapid firing the horn and timer. After reconciling for that week, I only lost $12. Luckily I caught it very early after failing. After about ten years and a total of 8 in service, I think this is the first time I've had one fail like that.

Ohhh goodie I just had one fail tonight, I did everything I could to try and clean it but no good, so it looks like I'm rewiring one in the morning when it's not 10 degrees out.
