G55 Series Flojet

2Biz

Thread Killer!
Anybody tried the G55 series flojet? From what I can tell with about 2 hrs of research last night, the G55 has Sanoprene diaphrams. The only difference I could see is the input and output fittings. The G55 is mainly used for soda syrup pumping and the Barb Fittings are smaller.

I couldn't find a parts list online to compare P/N's with the G57's....But from the outside measurements and mounting holes, the housing is identical to the G57...

I use Sanoprene's on both FB and Presoak...From the best I can tell, they have been in use for 7 years. The last one shelved has a Removed From Service tag on it from 2007. I've had the wash 2 years and have had no failures yet. I do not have water seperators on my air lines.

Just looking for the cheapest alternatives while maintaining quality. BTW, the price of the G55's are about $50.00... I have one coming to check out...If all I have to do is change input and output barb fittings, it will be a no brainer. I have plenty of them on leaking pumps...

It seems worth a try, but FWIW I use all Viton G57 FloJets so I only have to keep one spare that can replace any pump. The Santoprene ones don't last on tire cleaner or tri-foam.

Thats interesting about the Santoprene which I have read many times here on the forum. I know Viton and Kalrez is better for more severe service, but the two I have in service, pump FB and Tire Cleaner/Presoak...They both have been in service for at least 2 years since I've owned the wash or as long as 7 years with no problems...I run them at 60 psi...

When I get the G55 in, I'll look it over and report back. I don't see any reason to change from Santoprene to Viton if what I have is working fine. But if the G55 is the exact same as the G57 except for the port barbs, then it will save me about $25 ea. when needing to replace...

I’ve been using the Flojet G55 pump on my Foam brush system for some time without any problems. The only difference I can see between the two is the G55 has stainless steel inlet and outlet hose barb that is a different size.

Since you're using the same chemical for tire cleaner and presoak, it must be a lot less aggressive than what I run for tire cleaner. That pump and the tri-foam are the only santoprene ones that didn't last at least five years. I run them all at 70+ except foam brush.

That is what I was thinking. The inlet and outlet on a G57 Series is 1/2" barb. The G55 uses stainless, one model has 3/8 - 3/8 and the other is 3/8 and 1/4 I believe. If all thats needed is swapping out the SS fittings with the Poly 1/2" barb fittings, then we should be good to go. I can't see them changing the housing for all the different models they have. I sent Flojet a request for a parts list for the G55...We'll see if they send it to me...

Xylem's Response:

"I'm sorry there are no parts available for this Model Pump due to its NSF rating".

I'll let you know when I get the G55 in....

If I can't use it on my FB and Presoak, I can use it on the Tri-Foam Washer Fluid Injection Pump....I'm hoping it comes with the Barb Fittings...

I guess the G55 I bought didn't come with the barb fittings. Was able to source them on Ebay thanks to Randy...$3.95 ea for Stainless Steel....Still not a bad price since the SS fittings should never wear out.
