Friction Equipment Bumpers

I have a Nu Star soft touch and keep destroying the bumpers. It's the bumpers that "catch" the brushes. They last less than 2 weeks. I've tried a few different types and none seem to hold up. Has anyone else seen this? How did you fix it?
