There are some pretty good stringers working the coast here. They were able to get Hamiltons pretty easily. The validators were a combination of STA and XE (?). To make matters worse the local paper put it on the front page, along with instructions on how to do it. Why not just put it on you tube? This is something the change people should have stopped years ago. All these manufacturers make auto cashiers that have a neat little knife that cuts off the receipt paper. Why not just put that on the bill acceptor?

It's not at all difficult to string a Hamilton acceptor, and everything they've done to stop it has only made problems with taking bills. Why do you think Hamilton offers their own changers with Mars acceptors?

You've got to love when the media makes a how-to tutorial. Hey that's like college credit for up and coming crooks...

As an aside, one day we'll have no more coin or paper and this stuff will stop in the carwash business.

This situation keeps getting better. The local paper that published this on the front page, didn't even interview anyone. In the article ythere are quotes from two owners, yet neither talked to a reporter. The reporter took everything from the police report. You would rationally think that the police would blank out the part about how to do it, but noooooo. So now we have all the kids out of school reading this, unemployed thugs reading it, and a whole new group of criminals about to be born. Stringing these isn't a slam dunk. It is a little harder than just sliding the bill in. So the machines will recognize these attempts and shut itself down. We are trying to come up with a plan to get this stinking paper and the reporter. I thought that it would be neat to find a simple way to get the quarters from the paper machines and post that somewhere. We have operators whose gross is half of last year. Some are on the brink, and the paper says, look how easy it is to steal their money.
