Extend the life of your hoses

I bought some coils of hard plastic protective wrap from Tompkins where I get custom made hoses. They have a product, PWP 16 that I cut in 3 foot sections and wrapped around my SS bay hoses where they rub on the ground. I also bought PWP 32 for my D & S Quicksilver 5/8" and 3/4" hoses which I'll install when replacing next time. I think this wrap is really going to work well. Also will use it anywhere I have a hose is rubbing against anything. I'll also use it to protect wiring where exposed. I bought full boxes of each (66') because it was three times as expensive by the foot. I have extra PWP 16 if anyone is interested, PM me. I tried to attach photos but couldn't get it to work.

Are you talking about this product?

Your hoses shouldn’t be dragging on the ground.

You’re correct whenever you have movement of the hose you want to protect it from “chaffing” or rubbing damage. I sometimes use another piece of larger hose split lengthwise cable tired on to the hose to protect the hose from Chaffing on sharp corners.

Yes. I should also mention that you should cut the end closest to the wand so that it doesn't leave a point because it can be a little uncomfortable to hit it with your hand when holding the hose.
