Engine and tire procon pump keeps breaking

I just replaced the procon pump for the engine and tire. Not sure how old it was (purchased wash less than year ago). The brand new procon pump’s spindle broke after just 3 weeks of use. 4 bay self serve wash. See pics
What could be causing this?

My first guess would be that you didn't have the pump seated all the way onto the motor.

Check motor bearings. I had a cat pump give out early and motor bearings were shot. Just spin the shaft and check for noise without pump.
