USA Technology, the makers and processors of the e-Port credit card systems, have not be able to provide readers and processing for our Canadian friends in past years. I am now informed that USA Technology is negotiating with a Canadian cellular provider and should have e-Port service in Canada sometime in August. As soon as this service becomes available, any existing ShurVend machine in Canada can be retrofit with credt card capability and all new vendors can have it installed as part of the original purchase options.
The latest version of the e-Port (G-6) is a wireless unit that does all its communicating by cellular service and will work very well inside of our security cabinet. All the control boxes and antenna are inside the vendor and cage, so the only thing exposed is the reader. The reader will accept a magnetic stripe card or a card with RF capability for the new "Tap and Go" systems.
The reporting capability of this new system has been posted below but to repeat for all; an email can be sent for every e-Port unit each day that will compile all the sales in each column of the vendor for the previous day whether cash or credit card. These are good records to have for your vending operation.
