Door Door Sensors. Do they need replacing?

All,

My IBA doors have infrared door sensor connected to ta infrared door relay like this one;

Over the years I have to turn the output level up on them. Now they are a 10 and it doesn't take much steam to trip the sensors. I guess they are just old and require replacement?

Yea, sensor getting old.Eventually it will stick on and your door will stay open.Most of the time its the reciever.The sweet spot for the relay is around 7.

From my wireless days, I know that in any link budget (loss across a span considering the transmitter power and receiver sensitivity), you can look at those three variables.
1-Make the distance shorter? Can't do that
2-Make the transmitter output higher. Already at maximum
3-Make the receiver more sensitive. Bingo!

The Carlos Garvazzi units I have can be switched to higher sensitivity. So I switched them to higher, then turned down the transmitter a notch above the level light coming on (after I ensure the IR TX & RX where optimally aligned) and problem fixed.

Will monitor over the next few days.
