Dollar Coin Jams

I have the sensortron 77041 (https://www.kleen-ritecorp.com/p-1215-ginsan-77041-insert-only-for-sensortron-coin-acceptor.aspx) and accept quarters (25c) in my bays. Probably once a week, I find one of the coin acceptors jammed with ... a $1 coin.

Has anyone had experience with this? Any tips with this, to get this to fall into the coin return, rather than jamming up the machine?

How are they even getting in? The factory opening in the faceplate isn't really big enough.

A piece of metal sandwiched between the acceptor and faceplate, partially blocking the slot should prevent the dollars from getting in.

You could attach a Hamilton quarter coin slot that is made for their pay stations. That is what we did on our old boxes when we only took quarters.

You could install a multi-coin coin acceptor like a Slugbuster 3 and take the Dollar coin.
