Diamond Shine Chemicals

I am new to the carwash industry. I purchased my first car wash back in December so I am still learning the ins and outs of car washes. My carwash uses diamond shine products which they were using when I purchased the place. Does anyone else have any experience with diamond shine products? Is it the best product I can buy for the money? How do you think it compares to other products like warsall or kleen rite? I use the fresh-n-cleen for presoak, bead up for clearcoat protectant, and cherry foam for hp soap and foaming brush.

Cleaning solutions

I run (2) IBA's and have tried everything under the sun. Many factors go into proper cleaning, water hardness, tempature, titrations etc...

Never impressed by Diamond Shine, as they just do not seem to work in the NE area. Several other owners have tried it and took it offline within a month.

Culmac took over the old Standhardt line and have some products that seem to work well in a low/high application.

Just one man's thoughts, good luck.

You use the same soap for foaming and for high pressure? Mine are two different viscosities and don't know how that would work. Interesting.

Have you checked your town/city for any local chemical suppliers? That's how I found mine, and get personal service from them to check things out and make sure the chemicals are working as they should. Such as, they've manipulated my foaming brush soap a couple of times for looks, smells, etc..

New to the industry?

I work for a distributor that has carried at one time Warsaw, Cul-mac, Diamond Shine, CSI, Blue Coral, JBS and have also dealt with a lot of products sold out of Kleen-rite. I can say that there are advantages of all of the above chemical suppliers, but some have disadvantages as well. Warsaw, and JBS although priced very nicely most of their products have a nice show but lack any actual "beef" or ability to clean a vehicle especially in a touch free environment. Blue Coral and CSI probably have some of the most innovative and consistent chemicals on the market but come with a hefty price tag. Cul-Mac has a very nice product line but has a lot of problems with consistancy, changing formulations, and no customer support. Kleen-rite carries a number of different lines but watch what you buy they are often priced to sell, but may sit on a shelf for months before they get to you also you have to pay for shipping unless your buying a pallet or more at a time.
My suggestion to anyone just getting into the car wash is to hook up with someone near you who has the same equipment and learn from their testing and mistakes, or find out who the distributor is that deals with your equipment and use what they use even if its only until you can learn how the machine works and what works best for you in your area. Your local distributor knows your machine the best and will be the best help to you.
