delayed soap application on Ryko voager II

I have been having problems with the soap application on my Ryko. The soap doesn't begin to cover the car until it is past the windshield and then it's ok. I never had this problem before. Aleays had plenty of foaming soap that started immediately. I was told to replace the feed pump ,so I did. It didn't make any difference. Any suggestions?
 
sounds like a foot valve or check valve in the suply line has gone bad.. The delay is because it is having to refill the supply line each time it starts.
 
First thing to do is try priming the line all the way to the detergent routing solenoid on the machine.The solenoid is located on the left side of the machine behind the two large doors (opposite the electric panel). The solenoid could be failing but I doubt it since the foam bath does work eventually. Air will be trapped at the highest point in the chemical line so look for bubbles near the boom mount or at the highest point. You can either unhook the line at the routing solenoid and use a suction pump or turn the pump all the way up and watch for air moving through the line or coming out the end of the disconnected hose. If this fixes the problem and then it comes back again, you need to start looking at how air is getting into the system.
 
thanks for your help. I did replace the foot valve and it did get the air out of the line, however I still am having a delay in the soap application. Could the problem bethe solonoid? the CB2 button on the breaker panel on the machine was tripped out today and I wasn't getting any soap at all. Is the tripped CB2 breaker an indication that the solonoid is failing? Thanks
 
CB2 Has a few relays, valves and solenoids. All chemical functions are on this circuit. Normally when these trip it is the coil of a valve, but any short or abnormal load will make them trip. The only valve on CB 2 is the under car, it could be that or the detergent relay or even the hot wax dump valve. You may not find out what tripped until it trips again and continues to trip. With the old voyagers I used to bring along my own soap on these calls because often the soap was the problem and swapping chemical brands saved ALLOT of trouble shooting time. I would make darn sure there is no air in the line from the pump to the wash, this is normally the problem with the delayed foam bath. There are also foamer pads in the center mixing tube that will need cleaned.

Normally you can get away with disconnecting the line at the machine and letting the pump run at the highest setting until the air is gone, but sometimes you have to use a suction pump to get it all out. Look for air in the high spots and loops. This is one of the best reasons to never let your soap run dry. You can have air in the line and it will look like you are pumping, but its just what passes by the bubble as the soap compresses the air.


Couple things. What and where is the center mixing tube located so that I can clean the mixing pads.
It is made of schedule 80 (gray) pvc and is in the center area of the gantry (crossbeam).


Also what is the valve for the "under car" that is controlled by the cb2? What do you mean by the "under car"?
CB2 is one of the circuit breakers that protects the computer (PLC) from the devices it controls. The under car can be "fixed" or "oscillating". The fixed undercar manifold is located in either a ramp or a trench. Normally mounted just inside the entrance door, it simply sprays under the car as the vehicle enters the wash bay. The oscillating style runs lengthwise to the vehicle and sprays after the car is located on the bayplates. The valve supplies water to the undercar manifold.
I hope it's not the soap. This all started when I got a new barrel of Fonic Wash from Kleen-Rite.
If you have any of you previous soap left over, I would try it. If its the soap you will continue to have problems no matter how much time or money you spend "fixing" it.
