Having trouble removing some old magnets that seem almost welded to the finish on a Hyundai Santa Fe.

I tried the pressure washer as well as heat gun and a plastic then a metal razor blade. Still lots of residue left. I have 45 minutes labor into one magnet so far.

Any ideas would be great! Thanks!

Waxman,

Saw that happen last week in VA. It is so hot they almost permanently stick to the finish.
Try these two options. If it is very hot out and the magnet is pliable, use chewing gum remover to freeze it. This will "unlock" most of the adhesive and allow you to pull it off (not for re-use).
Or rip that sucker off using a Bondo squegee by sliding it between the magnet and the paint, use an adhesive remover to soften the residue left by the cheap (usually made in China) plastisized magnet and then follow up with polish.

Hope this info helps!
