Credit Card Reader Problem

Have an Entry Wizard 2.0 with a Neuron card reader. Suddenly stopped accepting credit cards on Friday. Seems to me that the card reader is possibly not sending a signal to the modem to dial. Checked for any bad wires and to make sure I have a dial tone at the modem, which I did. I'm thinking it could be the card reader, but I'm sure there many other possibilities. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
 
I know this is a stupid question but do you have another card reader to switch out to test if it is the card reader? also I found some Neuron card readers online for about $75.00 a piece but I don't know what serial number is on your or style
