Converting a Razor 3 to a rain bar

I finally converted my foam n flow to a rain bar on my RZR 3. I mounted the foam n flow pipe up underneath the stainless shield and turned the air pressure down. The coverage is so much better now. I also bought the red LED light that goes on the RZR 4 and mounted it to the cover. I had the old hockey puck style LEDs before but they don't last but about 6 months. Im thinking about converting my RZR 4 to a rain bar also. The wax curtain is something you have to tinker with every week it seems like. 20201224_125516.jpg20201224_090630.jpg

The Foam N Flow needs to be redesigned. We have a Razor 3 and Razor 4. FNF just does not look impressive consistently. We experimented with blending two chemicals per a chemical rep recommendation which seems to help a bit. Curtain looks great 3/4 of the time. Would be nice if there was a better more consistent flow. Something for WW to improve for version 4.x

You should make a video of that, the ONLY way I have found to get the FnF to work is with a ultra-concentrate chemical, because a lot of chemicals are shipped with water in them and then adding more when you hook it up thus having to go way up in tip color to hopefully get a curtain.

Don't they field test this first?
Think WW will listen, & make an easy retro kit?

Does the Profile have the same issue?

The FnF on the Razor4 is a huge improvement over the Razor3. I got a FnF modification kit from WW for my Razor3 shortly after it was installed in 2016 but i ended up removing the SS board and making it a rain arch like APW. It still doesn't have great coverage because it isn't wide enough. I have a Mr Foamer bar that I want to install but never have the time or motivation.

The FnF is the only major complaint I have for the WW machines. Even the tunnel guys have issues with their foam curtain applicators. My machines have to go over 2 SS bays to get to the Razors so that doesn't help.

I suspect that the Sheet foamers will fall out of vogue soon.

I don't get what the big deal is about sheet foamers. I don't think there is a customer out there that could give two squirts, whether it comes out in a sheet or individual streams. I think it's just the chemical people and some operators that get chubbies over this gimmick. Spend time on something that will actually make you some money. I agree with Eric, I feel that operators will eventually tire from dealing with those things.

Operators like me appreciate things that work well and consistenly. I don't want to have to tinker too much with the wash process on my automatic car wash; I want to " set it and forget it". That's what the big price tag should get the operator!

Absolutely agree!!

I love tinkering with equipment, I like finding engineering flaws on various pieces of equipment that can be fixed with a simpler design, it keeps the gears in thy old skull moving.

yes I've done a bunch of reengineering on my machine over the years. I managed to squeeze a lot of extra life out of it that way I think. But now I'm really looking forward to a honeymoon period With a new machine, where I can fill the soaps, run it and make money.

Waxman I agree. The previous owner of my wash tried the single curtain idea with a single color foam on the WW HV... Really never worked so I yanked it off and went back to the 6 triple foam heads ( 3 on each side) works perfect. I think the customers like to see " triple foam" three colors. No complaints. Just my 2 cents. If it isn't broke don't fix it.......

Anyone know how to post a video? I cut it down to 4 seconds but it still won't upload.

Where did you get the rain bar? Looks a lot wider than the pipe that comes with the machine. I
Only remove the stainless steel pan and used the existing pipe. I’ve been thinking about adding some pods (or banana foamers) on the side to mimic the HyperFlex

It's the same pipe that comes on the machine.

APW what chemicals are you using?
Quest. I was putting Shine On Carnuba Wax through the foam n flow but it wasn't applying evenly to the car. I now apply the Shine On through the flex pods and just run florafoam or either red triple foam through the rain bar.
